Warsaw has an emerging vegan scene and is home to some of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to! When I visited in May, I was so surprised by all the plant-based options available in the Polish capital. From vegan sushi to Polish classics made plant-based, Warsaw is a city you need to try.
Whether you’re a long-time vegan or just plant-curious, Warsaw has something special waiting for you. Here’s my guide to the best vegan and plant-based restaurants in the city, tried, tested, and loved.
Best Vegan Restaurants in Warsaw
1. Vege Miasto — Warsaw’s Most Beloved Plant-Based Restaurant

Vege Miasto is Warsaw’s most beloved vegan restaurant — a warm, welcoming spot on Hoża Street that has been winning over locals and visitors alike for years with its creative, seasonal plant-based menu. The cooking here draws on the best of modern European cuisine without losing sight of its Polish roots: expect beautifully plated grain bowls, house-made pasta with wild mushroom ragu, and seasonal vegetable dishes that change weekly to reflect what’s best from local producers. The lunch deal is one of the best value offers in the city, and the evening menu is worth every złoty. Comfortable, unpretentious, and consistently excellent.

2. Eter — One of the Best Plant-Based Bakeries in Europe

Eter is, quite simply, one of the best vegan bakeries I have ever visited — and I’ve visited a lot. Tucked into Wilcza Street in the Śródmieście district, this extraordinary little bakery turns out croissants with the kind of shatteringly crisp layers and buttery (entirely dairy-free) flavour that would make a Parisian pastry chef nod in respect. The pain au chocolat, the fruit-filled Danish pastries, the sourdough loaves — everything here is made with obsessive care and real skill. It’s always busy, the pastries sell out fast, and queuing in the morning cold is completely worth it. Go early, order several things, and eat them sitting on the steps outside. Absolute perfection.

3. Lokal Vegan Bistro — Seasonal Plant-Based Cooking on Poznańska

Lokal Vegan Bistro on Poznańska is a gem of a restaurant that proves vegan food can be both sophisticated and deeply comforting. The seasonal menu changes regularly and always showcases the best of what’s growing locally — wild mushroom and barley risotto, slow-roasted cauliflower with caper butter, house-made gnocchi with seasonal greens — each dish beautifully plated and carefully executed. The dining room is cosy and intimate, with warm lighting and an unhurried pace that encourages you to linger. The wine list is modest but well-chosen, and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate. One of Warsaw’s finest restaurants, full stop.

4. Youmiko — Europe’s Most Acclaimed 100% Plant-Based Sushi Bar

Youmiko is Warsaw’s best — and arguably Europe’s most acclaimed — 100% vegan sushi bar, and it has built a truly remarkable reputation since it opened. Located on Hoża Street near the city centre, this sleek and stylish restaurant serves inventive rolls, nigiri, and sashimi-style plates built entirely around vegetables, tofu, tempura, and plant-based proteins. The cucumber and avocado uramaki are a deceptively simple classic, but it’s the more adventurous specials — spicy mango tempura rolls, roasted sweet potato nigiri with pickled ginger — where the kitchen really shines. Beautifully presented, consistently excellent, and deservedly busy.

5. Momencik — Plant-Based Mexican on Warsaw’s Most Beautiful Street

Momencik brings a splash of Mexican sunshine to Warsaw’s Nowy Świat, one of the city’s most beautiful and lively streets — and the food is as vibrant as the location. This entirely plant-based Mexican spot serves tacos, burritos, and bowls that are loaded with bold, properly seasoned flavours: smoky chipotle black beans, tangy pickled jalapeños, fresh pico de gallo, and a guacamole that’s made with real care. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere has an easy-going energy that makes it the perfect spot for a casual lunch between sightseeing. Don’t leave without trying the horchata — it’s exceptional.

6. Mango Street Food — Fast, Filling & Fully Plant-Based

Mango Street Food on Marszałkowska is the kind of plant-based spot that makes vegan eating feel effortless and fun. The menu takes familiar pub classics and street food favourites and gives them a fully plant-based makeover that genuinely works: the loaded fries are crispy and indulgent, the burgers have proper flavour and satisfying heft, and the wraps are packed with fresh, well-seasoned fillings. Prices are low, portions are large, and the casual, counter-service setup means you can be in and out quickly or settle in for a leisurely afternoon. One of Warsaw’s most dependably good spots for a no-fuss, full-flavoured vegan meal.

7. Peaches Gastro Girls — Warsaw’s Most Creative Plant-Based Fine Dining

Peaches Gastro Girls is Warsaw’s most exciting and boundary-pushing plant-based fine dining restaurant — a creative, feminist-led kitchen on Poznańska that approaches vegan cooking as a serious art form. The tasting menus change seasonally and always surprise: expect bold flavour combinations, technically impressive preparations, and the kind of careful attention to texture and presentation that you’d find at the very best European fine dining tables. The intimate dining room and attentive, passionate service create a genuinely special atmosphere. This is destination dining in the truest sense — the kind of meal you plan a trip around.

8. Uki Green — Plant-Based Ramen Bowls Worth Queuing For

Uki Green is Warsaw’s go-to spot for rich, warming vegan ramen bowls, and on a cold Polish evening, there is genuinely nowhere better to be. Located on Hoża Street, the menu focuses on deeply flavourful plant-based broths — a miso-mushroom blend with silky noodles, a spicy mala option for those who like heat, and a lighter shio broth packed with fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables. The toppings are thoughtfully chosen and generously applied: crispy tofu, marinated bamboo shoots, soft corn, and sheets of nori. It’s a small, cosy space with a reliably warm atmosphere — the kind of place that becomes an instant favourite.

9. Bar Mir — Polish Classics with a Plant-Based Heart

Bar Mir is the restaurant to visit if you want to understand what Polish cuisine can be when made with a plant-based heart. Located on Chmielna Street in the city centre, this modern take on the classic Polish bar mleczny (milk bar) serves up traditional dishes like pierogi, bigos (hunter’s stew), żurek (sour rye soup), and placki ziemniaczane (potato pancakes) — all reimagined as 100% vegan using clever techniques and quality local ingredients. The food is honest, hearty, and deeply satisfying, the prices are very affordable, and the atmosphere is that wonderful mix of nostalgic and modern that Warsaw does better than almost any city in Europe.

Tips for Vegan Travellers in Warsaw
Warsaw’s vegan scene has exploded in recent years, and you’ll find plant-based options across the city. The best neighbourhoods for vegan food are the Śródmieście (City Centre), Powiśle, and Praga districts. Warsaw’s milk bars (bar mleczny) are a great budget option — many serve naturally vegan dishes for very little money. The Old Town is beautiful to explore, and there are good vegan options nearby. For the full experience, book ahead at Youmiko and Vege Miasto — both are popular with locals and tourists alike.
