Milan is one of Europe’s most exciting cities for plant-based eating — a city where design, culture, and cuisine collide, and where a new wave of vegan restaurants is redefining what Italian food can be. Whether you’re visiting for fashion week, an art exhibition, or simply a weekend break, you’ll find no shortage of incredible spots to eat. Here’s my guide to the best vegan and plant-based restaurants in Milan, tried, tested, and highly recommended.
From a Michelin-starred kitchen to Italy’s first 100% plant-based sushi bar, Milan’s vegan dining scene punches well above its weight. Most of these spots are clustered in the cool Navigli, Brera, and Porta Nuova neighbourhoods, making it easy to explore several in one day. Let’s dig in.
Best Vegan Restaurants in Milan
1. Linfa — Italy’s Best Plant-Based Bistro 2025

Linfa is the crown jewel of Milan’s plant-based dining scene, having been awarded Italy’s Best Plant-Based Bistro in 2025. Set across two locations — Via Bergognone (Navigli) and Piazza Cavour 3 — Linfa has just launched a dedicated Sushi Bar, bringing together Japanese technique and seasonal Italian produce in the most extraordinary way. The Karaage Roll (zucca Hokkaido, mayo, sakura mix, 24k gold leaf) is an absolute must-order. The evening tasting menus are intimate and creative, and the wine list is impeccable. Book ahead — this place fills up fast.

If you have any love for cheese, La Colubrina will completely blow your mind. This artisan shop on Via Felice Casati 5 is dedicated to handcrafted vegan cheeses — aged, fermented, and alive with flavour. Think cashew camembert, macadamia brie, truffle-infused rounds, and seasonal varieties that change throughout the year. Tips for Vegan Travellers in Milan
Milan’s vegan scene is growing fast, but a few tips will help you make the most of it. Most of these restaurants are concentrated in the Navigli, Brera, and Porta Nuova neighbourhoods — you can easily walk between several of them in an afternoon. Most spots offer excellent lunch menus at lower prices than dinner, so if you’re on a budget, midday is your best bet. For fine dining at Joia or Linfa, always book ahead — both fill up quickly, especially at weekends. And don’t miss aperitivo time (typically 18:00–20:00) at Nepà, where you’ll experience the very best of Milan’s beloved ritual in an entirely plant-based setting.
